Wedge Paintings

Wedge in Newport Beach can produce one of the most exciting and dangerous breaks anywhere in California, and the big waves bring out large crowds.  

The crowds are there to catch glimpses of the riders willing to take on the challenge as the waves peak and break on the shore. It’s thrilling to watch, and something that will get your blood pumping!

Capturing this sense of danger and excitement is the goal of each of the paintings that you’ll find in this collection. 

The challenge of capturing these moments is my big wave, and there are definitely peaks and breaks as I’m in the throes of my creative process.
